On the edge of St Davids, a few minutes from the centre and just west of the Cathedral, Amber Cottage is less than a mile from the sea and enjoys panoramic views of Pembrokeshire's beautiful coastal scenery. Ramsey Island, Carn Llidi and the bronze age fortress of Cleg-y-Boia lay to the back of the cottage, with views of the Cathedral and Skomer Island from the front.

For most of the year Amber Cottage is a well-established and very welcoming B&B, in fact it is Wales' most westerly B&B and rather special.

But for Easter and some weeks in July & August 2010 it will be available as a self-catering holiday cottage.

Built in the 1800s of traditional Welsh stone & later extended, Amber Cottage sleeps 6 people very comfortably. The four first floor bedrooms (1 double room with king-size bed, 1 twin room & 2 singles) all have wash basins apart from the smaller single. All have comfortable beds with 100% cotton bed-linen, towels, ample good quality furniture, TVs & clock radios.

The main bathroom (bath, bidet, shower, washbasin & loo) is on the first floor, with a shower room and separate loo on the ground floor. Also on the ground floor are the well-equipped kitchen and two comfortable living rooms. The living room to the back of the house has patio doors leading out on to a paved area and walled garden.

Amber Cottage enjoys stunning sunsets - best appreciated from the patio where families of house martins nest in the eaves above. The garden is attractive & secure, with a lawn, well-stocked flower beds, a small pond [parents of small children, please note!], hardwood garden furniture & the ubiquitous rotary dryer.

The house has mains operated smoke detectors, traditional sash windows, is attractively furnished throughout and has well stocked bookshelves, a music system, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, plus an abundance of wonderful local photographs (largely thanks to previous B&B

guests) and lots of information about St Davids and North Pembrokeshire, making it an ideal 'home from home' from which to explore the area. Parking at Amber Cottage is not a problem. There is one off-road parking space & also ample space on the lane immediately opposite.

Tariff

The weekly tariff is £800.

This includes gas & electricity, bedding and towels (but not beach towels).

Guests are required to pay a 25% deposit on booking, and to pay the remaining 75% a minimum of 8 weeks before their arrival.
