The Area
Alandale is a grade II listed building, situated at the end of a terrace
of five houses, built in 1882 for coastguard officers and opened by Prince
Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh.
St Davids is Britain's smallest city and is situated within the Pembrokeshire
Coast National Park with its stunning scenery, coastal path and blue flag
sandy beaches. The focal point of St Davids is the cathedral,
viewed by many as the most beautiful ecclesiastical building in the country.
The cathedral hosts numerous musical and religious events during the year
including the music festival which takes place in early May/June.
The Oriel Y Parc art gallery opened in November 2008 and features works by Graham Sutherland and other famous artists. It is a must for visitors.
More adventurous activities include boat expeditions to view the wide
variety of wild life and spectacular coastal scenery. Visitors can take
part in surfing, kayaking, climbing, coasteering and horse riding. Golf
is also available at Whitesands Bay which claims to be the best nine hole
course in West Wales.
The coastal path, beaches and attractions are served by an excellent,
regular and reliable bus service which operates between Easter and approximately
the end of September.
Ample public parking is located just behind us, off Quickwell Hill (it's
where we park our own car). We also have secure, dry storage for bicycles
in our garden shed.
Above all Alandale offers traditional Welsh hospitality and a comfortable
and enjoyable stay for all guests.
