God its bad isn't it? Heres the routine....

Time Check
Radio station name check
Frequency check
Plug for weak competition (possibly up to 6 hours in advance of the actual competition)
Jingle
(e.g Sleeping Satellite by Tasmin Archer, The King of Rock and Roll by Prefab Sprout)
Cut song short for jingle
Adverts (awful)
Endorsements from semi deaf yokel sounding local
Jingle
Time Check
Radio station name check
Frequency check
DJ Introduces Len's forecast
Len Batemans 10 past forecast
Jingle
Plug for weak competition
Feature (Including reading out classifieds ads (e.g theres a pram for sale in Milford Haven, its in good condition and available for £5) local whats on guide, reading out job adverts etc)
Jingle
Awful old hit
Time check
Frequency check
Name check
Jingle
News - This has to include reference to a geographical location before revealing where it actually happened e.g "a hospital in mid pembrokeshire" (Withybush), "a town in the south of the county" (Tenby), "a North Pembrokeshire city" (St Davids). All to be delivered in a strange voice that is slightly macabre.
Ridiculous, surely false claim that Radio Pembrokeshire is "the number one station in the world"
etc etc.

This is to be repeated until close with each Dj seeming to be on air for up to 5 hours at a time.

I've concluded that a robot could run the station equally aswell. There seems to be absolutely no scope for any ad libbed chat. And when it does occur its incredibly boring. The station makes me feel ill its so bad.

And yes don't worry, I don't listen to it by choice but it seems to get played everywhere for some reason. Surely just because its local doesn't mean it should be an automatic choice to be played in leisure centres, shops, garages, building sites etc!?

Intriguing, on the website its a distinctive mix of great music from the 60's up to the present day hosted by a number of local personalities.

Hey, sounds good to me..............So i try and click on the link ...........And...............Its not available to people outside of the uk.

Ah well, i'll stick to radio Blanes.......If you think your local radio is boring, you want to try listening to this load of twaddle!! FM 103.3.

Be safe!!

I often tune into BBC radio Devon, although in the winter, I cant get it after dark. In my opinion, its far superior to Radio Pembrokeshire, and ther's no adverts.
Why cant we get a BBC local station?
