Trefeiddan
Farm is situated 1.5 miles west of the smallest city of St Davids near
to
St
Justinian lifeboat station. We are within easy reach of the
Pembrokeshire coast path and both Porth Sele and Whitesands beaches.
The farm is a small holding overlooking 64 acres of moor land and
nestling beneath Trefeiddan rock from which there are spectacular views
of the area. We have three self catering holiday cottages.
Access
to our holiday
cottages is by private track off the road to St Justinian, home of the
St Davids' lifeboat. from where boat trips leave to go to or around
Ramsey Island (RSPB reserve). In season cliff nesting birds can be seen
in their thousands and grey seals frequent its caves and beaches.
Fishing trips leave from here for an hour or a day's mackerel fishing.
The nearest beach is Porth Sele which is a lovely safe beach for
children and is a natural playground with mixtures of sand, rock pools
and gentle waves. Whitesands, a well-known blue flag beach is less than
5 minutes by car.
Adjacent
to the property
lies a protected area of damp heathland and willow scrub that is a
year-round haven for wildlife. In spring and summer birds such as water
rails, sedge warblers, grasshopper warblers and chiffchaff fill the air
with their song, and at any time of year hen harriers, short-eared and
barn owls can be seen
hunting over the heath. The surrounding land is a
patchwork of small fields, bordered
by hedges and banks that run down
to the dramatic cliffs, less than half a mile away.
There
are numerous
activities to be enjoyed in the area. Twr y felin outward bound centre
offers canoeing, rock climbing, surfing and wind surfing. St Davids and
Solva have a wide range of excellent shops and restaurants and we are
within easy reach of south Pembrokeshire with its many and varied
family attractions.
We
welcome pets by prior
arrangement but please note that Trefeiddan Farm has sheep and horses
in surrounding fields and for this reason we can only accept well
behaved dogs with responsible owners.
